Jim (Lead Guitar/Lead vocals)

Jim Started his adventure into music at avery early age. At around six years old he started learning to play guitar with friends in the streets of St-Louis, Mahe , Seychelles. At the age of seven he persuaded his parents to purchase his first acoustic guitar on a holiday trip in Mauritius. This was the start of a major journey which no one, not even himself could begin to imagine. At the age of nine he got his first keyboard and taught himself the basics of keyboard playing. However his love affair with the six string instrument was as strong as ever.

It was at school that he started to show real talent and this talent kept growing and soon the very next most important phase was about to begin. It was time to join the National Youth Service (NYS) and little did he know that those two years would be among the best years of his life. It was there that he really had the chance to develop his talents as a guitarist.

With the help of Jack Valentin, the instructor in the NYS village, He kept pushing his limits in order to keep learning and achieve perfection. He was also pushed into starting to sing, something totally new, but which would prove incredibly vital in the music business today.

Jim later joined the original Youngsters band which was one of the best bands in Seychelles in the early 90's. After the original Youngsters disbanded, he went on to join "Paradise" band who was the backing band for one of the Island's best female vocalist Joenise Julliet as lead guitarist and backing vocals. Later on formed a trio by the name of 4-mula band and stayed with the trio until he emmigrated to the UK in 2002.

During his studies in London in 1994 he was introduced to fellow guitarist Phillip Zoil (better known as Gerard to friends and family). He then went on to join the Zoil Foundation (the longest surviving Mauritian band to date). In 1997 Jim left London and went back to the Seychelles for six years. However upon his return to the UK he teamed back with Phil working as sound engineer for Zoil foundation and later on Island Brothers was formed.
